This lab focuses on the investigation of sensorimotor control using biomechanical measures of movement (kinematics and kinetics), muscle activity (EMG), and neuroimaging (fMRI). Studies are carried out in collaboration with partners from different disciplines and countries. The lab explores the influence of the environment, movement, and treatment on sensorimotor behavior.

The Rehab Lab SG has successfully transferred the innovative concept of a fully integrated FabLab within a rehabilitation or medico-social organisation where patients with a disability can design their own assistive devices by 3D printing to three European locations. A successful twinning was achieved by: analysis of the local infrastructure, training on running a REHAB-LAB for each adopter and deployment of a collaborative platform to facilitate ongoing work between partners. The twinning also enabled the creation of a European REHAB-LAB community and development of a common charter for person-centered innovation in healthcare.
